HI, My name is Betty Flores.
Whether you are seeking therapy due to infertility, a miscarriage, infant loss, birth trauma, postpartum rage, postpartum depression, postpartum OCD, or perfectionism, we'll identify your unique strengths, creating a foundation for resilience.
I'm truly grateful that you've chosen to be here. Being vulnerable and reaching out can be challenging, but your decision reflects incredible courage on your journey towards healing and building a more sustainable and fulfilling life.
I often use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention).
In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress.
EMDR helps process traumatic experiences, reducing anxiety and depression. ERP aids in managing intrusive thoughts and fears. Together, they promote mental health and resilience during pregnancy and postpartum. Both EMDR and ERP, when applied skillfully, contribute to emotional resilience, adaptive coping strategies, and an overall improved sense of wellbeing during this crucial life stage.
EMDR
My clients that engage in EMDR therapy have experienced relief, with complex layers of:
attachment wounds
childhood traumas
current-day perinatal mood and anxiety disorders
reproductive traumas
ERP
ERP has empowered my clients to confront and manage specific obsessions and compulsions related to:
childbirth
parenting
postpartum adjustments

Personal
Outside of working with my clients in therapy, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my two spunky daughters, and my dog. Prior to having my own children, I used to like to take deep dives into reading physical books, however that has turned into listening to them on audible. Being physically active by playing soccer, flag football, weightlifting and hiking the beautiful outdoors of Utah have always served as adaptive ways for me to cope with life and my own stressors. Additionally, I volunteer on the Postpartum Support International Utah Chapter board as the Alliance chair to in hopes of bridging the gap in support services for professionals and communities of color around perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
